Eduardo Tomás Medina Mora Icaza
Eduardo Medina Mora Icaza worked as a corporate lawyer before taking senior security posts in government. A UNAM law graduate, he directed the civilian intelligence service under Vicente Fox, became public security secretary, and served as attorney general under Felipe Calderón from 2006 to 2009. After representing Mexico in Britain, he became ambassador in Washington in 2013. His public diplomacy emphasized the integration of North American production and the economic contribution of migrants. He left the embassy to join Mexico's Supreme Court in March 2015. His appointment drew criticism over his record in security and prosecution.
