Yngve Möller

Yngve Möller moved from work as a painter into journalism and Social Democratic politics. He studied at folk high schools, worked for several labor newspapers and the trade union press service, and edited Arbetarbladet in Gävle from 1948 to 1972. His public work included parliamentary foreign affairs responsibilities, repeated service in Sweden's UN delegation, and inquiries into immigration, media, and arms exports. ¹

Möller was appointed ambassador to Washington in 1972 but was never accredited and did not take up the mission. He instead served as envoy in Oslo from 1973 to 1978. Later he chaired the Swedish Institute of International Affairs and wrote about Swedish foreign policy, including biographies of Östen Undén and Rickard Sandler, a memoir, and a study of Sweden and the Vietnam War. ¹
