Axel Wallenberg
Axel Fingal Wallenberg moved from military service into the Swedish timber industry. After leaving the army in 1908, he managed Baltiska trävaru AB and later Wifstavarfs AB. 1
Wallenberg became minister in Washington in 1921. The Swedish biographical dictionary credits him with work to expand Swedish timber exports and economic contacts with the United States. He later returned to industrial and banking responsibilities and in 1928 became managing director of the International Committee on Newsprint, which coordinated paper manufacturers across countries. He also twice chaired Sweden's tennis association. 1
