Martín Luis Drago
Martín Luis Drago served as a senior member of Argentina's Washington mission during the early Perón presidency. In November 1947, acting as chargé d'affaires, he brought former industry and commerce secretary Rolando Lagomarsino to meet Assistant Secretary of State Norman Armour. The discussion concerned machinery purchases and Argentina's contribution to the movement of food supplies to Europe. Drago acted as the embassy intermediary; Lagomarsino made the detailed commercial arguments. 1
On 21 May 1948, Drago joined Argentine war minister José Humberto Sosa Molina and U.S. protocol chief Stanley Woodward at the presentation of a small José de San Martín statue to Harry Truman. The gift came from Perón. 2
